Star Practices ? Made in Asia
Framework for
Sharing Good Practices
Dear
Members
PHMA is pleased to inform its valued members
that this Association has been playing its imperative role in the advisory
committee of Sustainable Textile of Asian Region (STAR). Other Associations
include GMEA from Bangladesh, CNTAC from China, GMAC from
Cambodia, MGMA from Myanmar. Sharing STAR practices is an
excellent way to jointly tackle sustainability challenges in the textile and
garment industry.
With support of the GIZ programme Social and
Labour Standards in the Textile and Garment Industry in Asia (SLSG), the
associations aim at collecting good practices among its member factories, of
which a shortlist will be presented to the network of producing associations
who will select the most innovative and successful ones. Those are the STAR
practices, which will be shared and published regionally.
Subsequently, members are invited to kindly
share their good practices in any one or more area mentioned as follows:
1.
Occupational Health and
Safety (OHS)
2.
Building
and fire safety
3.
Supporting/ promoting
female workers and inclusion
4.
Environmental
protection through sustainable chemical management or resource efficiency
(water, electricity)
5.
Social
dialogue between management and workers
Please
provide your feedback as per attached Performa.
For
your ready reference and idea a good practice of one of our PHMA member in
respect to Fire and Safety Category is attached.
PHMA
will appreciate your prompt response by 27th September, 2017.
Thanks
& Best Regards,
