Occupational
Safety and Health (OSH) Training
The
International Labour Organization (ILO) is implementing a European Union funded
project titled ?International Labour and Environmental Standards Application in
Pakistan?s Small Medium Enterprises (ILES)?. The project aims to assist
employers, managers and workers in the textile and leather sectors, and their
associations, in improving occupational safety and health (OSH) and
productivity by using practical, low-cost methods. The participating
enterprises will also be able to promote compliance with national labour and
environmental legislation for business sustainability.
In this regard,
ILO is organizing a free of cost
training program in the month of September with the
following objectives:
- To provide
knowledge on simple, low-cost OSH improvement ways at enterprise level
focusing on the growing OSH needs of the industry and the market.
- To enhance
awareness on importance of prevention, learn how to use OSH
risk-assessment tools and make practical improvement plans.
- To build
enterprise capacities on continuing OSH improvements that can contribute
to business sustainability.
- To help
enterprises establish employer-worker cooperative relations at workplace
for identifying and implementing OSH improvements.
