IMPORTANT PRECAUTION

We would like to inform all our members about a recent incident of attempted hijacking of our member exporter?s loaded container truck heading for port, by two motorcyclists who stopped the truck and asked the driver to follow them as they said that some goods were to be collected from elsewhere as ordered by the owner but which was averted just because fortunately exporter?s representative was sitting beside the driver in the container truck who called the factory and confirmed that no such order was given. He was instructed to head for the nearest Thana which he did, which compelled the two criminals as well another car following them to speed away and vanish.

To avoid this new trend and modus operandi adopted by the criminals to hijack loaded containers, all members are advised, in their own interest, to send escort vehicle with their loaded container containing goods meant for export, up to port or at least up to main road for safety of their valuable cargo.
