UPCOMING REDUCTION IN THE TARIFFS AUSTRALIA APPLIES TO TEXTILE IMPORTS

We are sending you herewith letter of Ministry of Textile Industry dated 8^th December, 2014 on the subject for your information. Australian High Commission, Islamabad informed that under Australia?s policy of unilateral reduction of tariffs, duty on imported textile goods will be reduced to 5 percent from 1^st January, 2015.

Presently, a number of tariff lines are subject to a 10 percent duty.

These are principally garments as well as other made-up textile items and Pakistan is a notable supplier.
