UPCOMING REDUCTION IN THE TARIFFS AUSTRALIA APPLIES TO TEXTILE IMPORTS

We are sending you herewith letter of Ministry of Textile Industry dated 8th December, 2014 on the subject for your information. Australian High Commission, Islamabad informed that under Australia?s policy of unilateral reduction of tariffs, duty on imported textile goods will be reduced to 5 percent from 1st January, 2015.

Presently, a number of tariff lines are subject to a 10 percent duty.

These are principally garments as well as other made-up textile items and Pakistan is a notable supplier.
